There is so much going on in this Gainsborough maxi, but the colour palette keeps it beautifully cohesive. Rust, chocolate, charcoal, silvery grey and soft pink wind through a large-scale paisley print, with a fine metallic sheen running across the fabric. The softly draped cowl neckline gives the print somewhere to fold and gather rather than sitting completely flat across the upper body.
The bodice follows the body through the waist before releasing into a long, gently A-line skirt. Full-length sleeves are softly gathered into narrow cuffs, each finished with two small gold-tone buttons, while the concealed centre-back zip keeps the back line neat.
Try it with deep red or oxblood boots and smoky quartz jewellery, or pick up the softer parts of the print with dusty pink heels and a pewter bag. This shape works well if you like definition through the bodice with more room as the skirt falls away from the hips.
