A domed faux pearl sits at the centre of this round silver tone brooch, ringed by six smaller pearls set out in a star pattern. Open filigree work fills the space between, finished with a fine beaded rope trim around the outer edge. The metal has the soft, aged patina typical of mid-century costume pieces, with hints of warmer gold tone through the filigree detail. A long pin fastens at the back, with a simple hook catch.

Pin it to a lapel, collar or the brim of a hat for a compact dose of vintage sparkle. It also sits well fastened to a scarf or the strap of a plain bag. A single statement brooch like this is easily worn alone, without extra jewellery nearby.
