Dana Buchman Metallic Monogram Vintage Shoulder Bag 'VIP'

This Dana Buchman shoulder bag has a wonderfully polished late-20th-century look, finished in a dark metallic pewter faux patent with the DB monogram embossed across the surface. The compact rectangular body is divided across the front with two useful pockets, each secured by its own substantial Dana Buchman push-lock clasp. A full-width zip runs across the top, and the long adjustable strap lets the bag sit comfortably at the shoulder or a little lower on the body.

The repeated monogram gives the faux patent surface its texture, while the gunmetal-toned finish, darker piping and chunky hardware keep the palette beautifully tonal. Inside, the red and black patterned lining is a rather fabulous surprise, with an additional zipped compartment for smaller essentials. The perfect size to carry just what you need.

Wear it with grey tailoring and cherry red shoes, or use the metallic finish against denim, cobalt, emerald or a strong patterned dress. The adjustable strap also makes it particularly useful when you want your hands free.

DESIGNER INFORMATION: American designer Dana Buchman launched her namesake label under Liz Claiborne in 1987 after earlier work with Christian Dior and Ellen Tracy. Known initially as an upscale womenswear line, the Dana Buchman name also extended into handbags and accessories. Buchman became a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1991.
