Paisley has a history stretching back centuries, from the woven shawls of Kashmir to the Liberty prints of London, and this dress carries that lineage. The cotton is tightly woven and dense with detail: large-scale botanical paisley forms in royal blue, deep purple, forest green and cream sweep across the fabric in the kind of intricate repeat that takes time to fully absorb. Look closer at the close-up shots and the pattern reveals itself in layers, a fine ground of micro-detail beneath the sweeping primary motifs. The bodice is pin-tucked at the front with a button placket opening to a V-neckline, the shoulder seams are cleanly set, and the fitted yoke style drop waist transitions into a pleated midi skirt with soft, fluid movement through the hem.

The pin-tucked front placket draws the eye vertically through the bodice, which is particularly flattering if you want to elongate the upper body or minimise width across the chest and shoulders. The drop waist sits below the natural waist, skimming the torso, and the pleated skirt opens freely from the hip, giving ease and movement without adding visual bulk below.
