Classic is the label stitched into the lining, and it's a fitting name for a piece built around such an enduring shape. The wool is a fine mid-grey with a soft brushed hand, tailored through the bodice with a shawl collar that folds back cleanly at the neckline. Six buttons run down the front, finish with a slim black belt at the waist, and the skirt below falls into fine, even knife pleats from hip to hem. The open split from waist to hem is perfect for pairing with cigarillo trousers or a straight skirt.

The sleeves are set long with a turned-back cuff, and the whole silhouette sings of coat and dress in one, structured through the shoulder and waist before releasing into all that pleating below.

Wear it as is with simple black flats and a leather tote for the office, or add a soft silk scarf and statement jewels to take it into evening. A cream beret and matching gloves lean further into the era if that's the mood.
