A fabulous piece of New Zealand fashion history from Frankie and L'Officiel! This matching wool-blend jacket and skirt set is a lovely example of how colourful classic tailoring can be. Look closely at the beautifully woven check and you'll find a wonderful mixture of cobalt blue, soft pink, taupe, brown and black, with fine intersecting lines creating a richly textured pattern. The jacket has a traditional notched collar, long sleeves, two-button fastening and practical front pockets with decorative flaps. Its shorter length pairs beautifully with the med-high-waisted skirt, which follows a gently shaped line through the hips before opening into a series of neatly tailored pleats towards the hem. Both pieces are lined and proudly made in New Zealand.

Now, here's where you can have a little fun with this two-piece! Wear the complete suit with a chocolate brown fine-knit top, tan leather boots and a mustard yellow handbag for a rather lovely take on heritage dressing. Or introduce a little pattern mixing with a small floral or paisley blouse featuring colours drawn from the check. Designer Information: Stylish Clothing Company was established in New Zealand in 1929 and became home to several well-known New Zealand fashion labels, including Frankie and L'Officiel. Designer Marie Bacon launched L'Officiel after purchasing the company in 1964, and by the 1980s the label was exporting to prestigious American department stores including Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Today, examples of L'Officiel's New Zealand fashion heritage are documented by the New Zealand Fashion Museum.
