Milady Styles 1970s Black and Silver Lurex Stripe Knit Maxi Skirt Set

Milady Styles 1970s Black and Silver Lurex Stripe Knit Maxi Skirt Set

$229.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Fine black and silver stripes run through both pieces, with plain silver lurex used at the high collar, waistband and cuffs. The top sits close through the body, long sleeves softly easing in to cuffs, and a zip running the length of the centre back. Below it the skirt opens into an A-line and falls all the way to the ankle. Worn together the two make one long unbroken column. Milady Styles made this set in New Zealand, and half a century on both pieces are still together.

Two pieces means two ways to wear it. The top goes well with almost any denim pairing or simple skirt when you want a little shine on an ordinary day, and the skirt carries a simple knit just as easily. A low heel or a long boot flatters the skirt length. Or wear the whole thing as it was made and go somewhere where you can make an entrance.

Grey Vintage Openwork Knit Cardigan

$99.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

This soft grey vintage cardigan has the sort of knit detail that is easy to miss from across the room and much more interesting once you are up close. The front is worked with narrow vertical openwork panels and subtle laddered motifs, giving the cardigan texture. A deep V neckline leads into a ribbed button band, finished with a neat row of tonal buttons.

The raglan sleeves give a relaxed line through the shoulder, while the ribbed cuffs and hem keep the shape. It falls to just above the hip with enough room through the body to layer comfortably over a blouse, tee or another fine knit. The soft grey works particularly well with stronger colour, so try it with cherry red trousers, black skirt, a daffodil yellow corduroy or evan a patterned dress where you want a calmer layer on top.

The V neckline leaves plenty of blouson space around the bust, and the raglan shoulder allows a little extra ease through the upper arm and shoulder.

Silver Grey 1970s Lurex Giraffe Print Knit Top

Silver Grey 1970s Lurex Giraffe Print Knit Top

$119.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Irregular blocks of pewter and pale silver travel across this knit in a giraffe print that changes direction as it moves around the body. The pattern is knitted in rather than printed, worked in a fine lurex blend so the whole surface carries a low metallic glint. A ribbed stand neckline in plain silver sits above it, long sleeves run clean to the wrist, and the body finishes at the hip.

Love a knit with a bit of glimmer? It tucks into a full skirt as shown here, and works just as well with something narrow and dark below. Keep jewellery in pewter or silver tones so the metallic stays one idea rather than two. A tailored jacket or leather pairing takes it into evening, or flat boots and denim keep it easy.

Vintage Dove Grey Knit 1960s Ensemble

$199.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Soft dove grey gives this two-piece knit suit a beautifully restrained look, but the tailoring is where the interest really sits. The jacket has a neat notched collar, long raglan-style sleeves and a straight, gently shaped body, finished with fabric-covered buttons and distinctive double tab detailing at each hip.

The matching skirt keeps the line simple, with a defined waistband, subtle shaping through the hips and a straight knee-length silhouette. Worn together, the textured knit and tonal detailing give you a polished look without feeling overly formal. Both pieces also have plenty of potential worn separately.

Try the jacket with chocolate brown trousers, a tangerine knit and loafers, or wear it with dark denim and cobalt accessories. Pair the skirt with a raspberry blouse and burgundy boots, or bring in chartreuse, violet or deep teal for stronger colour contrast. For a more dressed-up version of the full suit, add a silk scarf, sculptural earrings and a richly coloured handbag.

Kathryn by Robert Blake 1970s Grey Ribbed Knit Tunic and Trouser Set

Kathryn by Robert Blake 1970s Grey Ribbed Knit Tunic and Trouser Set

$210.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Fine vertical ribbing provides a soft stretch running the length of this wool knit two piece in a soft charcoal grey. A contrasting cream ribbed turtleneck collar sets off the tunic top, closed at the front with a small grey tab and gold buckle, while a discreet zip runs neatly up the back into the collar seam. The tunic falls fitted through the shoulders before easing into a longer, almost A-line shape, with rounded contrast pockets in matching cream ribbing finished at the hip, each secured by its own buckle tab. Below, the trousers pick up the same rib knit and grey tone, sitting at the natural waist and running straight through the leg.

This is a set that layers with intention, the fitted shoulder and turtleneck collar offering structure up top while the tunic's straight body skims loosely through the middle. The straight trouser leg lengthens the silhouette and balances the tunic's longer hemline, giving a clean line from collar to ankle. Wear the pieces together for a cohesive look, or split them to work into your existing wardrobe.

1970s Navy Mohair-Look Open Knit Cape

$89.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

This navy cape is a beautifully crafted open-weave soft blended knit that drapes from the shoulders in a relaxed, sweeping silhouette with pointed hem corners and a simple scooped neckline. The texture is the whole story here, a loosely structured waffle-style knit that shifts between denser and more open sections, giving it a lovely visual depth and a lightness that belies its warmth. Understated, tactile and quietly brilliant.

Because it sits across the shoulders and sweeps outward from there, this cape works beautifully for a wide range of body proportions, adding visual width across the upper body while leaving the waist and hip completely free. Layer it over a fitted high neck shirt or blouse and slim tailored trousers for an easy autumn look, or throw it over a simple slip dress for an evening out when you want something a little more interesting than a cardigan.

Carla Zampatti Gold Stripe Knit Jacket Cardigan

$199.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

Bold yet quietly refined, this authentic Carla Zampatti jacket cardigan captures the relaxed glamour of Australian designer sports-luxe dressing across the late twentieth century. Crafted in a softly structured sweatshirting knit with luminous gold horizontal striping against deep navy, the silhouette falls in a long clean line with an open neckline and oversized statement buttons. The textured metallic weave catches the light beautifully, while the cotton blend construction gives the piece an effortless drape and comfortable weight. Designed with practical pockets and an elongated profile, it balances ease with unmistakable designer polish.

Vintage Clothing - Baby Blue Beaded Cardi - Painted Bird Vintage Boutique & The Aviary - Skirt

Sophia Gift Centre Vintage Hong Kong Hand Beaded Lace Wool Cropped Cardigan

$295.00 $189.00 Save $106.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

There are vintage pieces, and then there are works of skilled craftmanship seldom found in current garb. Tiny beads are hand-applied in sweeping curves and floral motifs across a lace background, punctuated by iridescent sequins that catch and scatter light with every movement. The base is a soft wool blend in pale baby blue, fully lined throughout in silk. Someone sat with this piece for a very long time, and the result is something that no longer exist in anything other than vintage and luxury fashion.

The cardigan is cropped, with three-quarter sleeves and a clean open front that fastens with original side hook and eye closures at the waist. The silhouette is neat and fitted without being structured, sitting just at the natural waist and working beautifully over a dress or a simple blouse underneath. Wear it over our Baby Blue Sheer Woven Spot Blouse with wide-leg trousers for a formal occasion. Layer it over a fitted black dress for an evening where you want the top half to do all the talking. This cardigan earns its place at a wedding, a significant birthday dinner, or simply worn on a Tuesday because life is short and beautiful things deserve to be worn!

Vintage Clothing - 1970s Emerald Lurex Mock Neck Knit Top 'VIP' - Painted Bird Vintage Boutique & The Aviary - Knit

1970s Emerald Lurex Mock Neck Knit Top

$89.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

There is an undeniable magnetism to lurex. It captures the light and the imagination without ever feeling excessive. This authentic vintage knit features a deep emerald hue shot through with metallic thread for a finish that is festive yet sophisticated.

The silhouette is effortlessly relaxed. A chic mock neckline frames the face, while the dropped shoulders and boxy cut provide a comfortable drape that does not cling. It is the perfect balance of structure and slouch.

This shape works wonderfully to add texture to your upper half. It skims the torso to offer ease of movement while the shimmer draws the eye upwards. It is an ideal piece if you want to highlight your face and shoulders.

Style it tucked into high-waisted velvet trousers for evening elegance or wear it loose over denim for a textured daytime look. Add blinging acccessories to bring in a little drama. This is sustainable glamour that requires zero effort. It is a piece that brings a touch of stardust to the everyday.

The crew neckline and long sleeves keep the top half simple, leaving the colour blocking to do the work below.

Apricot 1980s Chevron Knit Jumper

$119.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

This jumper is knitted in a soft apricot with a fine zigzag texture running the full width of the body, each row catching your eye as the yarn shifts between stitches. The neckline sits in a wide, gentle scoop finished with a neat ribbed trim, echoed by a matching ribbed band at the hem. The sleeves are generously cut at the shoulder, narrowing gradually to a ribbed cuff at the forearm, giving the piece a relaxed, draped shape rather than a fitted one. Pulled on rather than fastened, it keeps its shape through the ribbing at the hem and cuffs.

The relaxed shoulder and wide sleeve give plenty of room through the upper arm, so if you prefer a looser fit through the top half, this jumper offers that ease. The ribbed hem sits gently at the waist without pulling in, and the scoop neckline works well both with a single long necklace or just as simply left plain. Pair it with a straight skirt or tailored trousers for a simple daytime look, or wear it over a collared shirt with the cuffs showing beneath the sleeve. The ribbing at the cuffs and hem keeps the shape after wear.

Fair Isle Style 1970s Knit Top and Skirt Set

Fair Isle Style 1970s Knit Top and Skirt Set

$149.00

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout.

There is a warmth to this knit two piece, the kind of set built for easy layering through cooler months. The fair isle style banding sits in soft rust and cream across the shoulders and yoke of the top, a decorative knit motif closely associated with 1970s casual dressing, and repeats again along the hem of the matching skirt. A keyhole neckline closes at the front with a small wooden toggle button. The knit itself has a soft, slightly textured hand, holding its shape well through the body while the elasticated skirt waist offers easy movement.

Worn together as a set or mixed separately through your existing wardrobe, this piece offers a relaxed, easy fit through the shoulders and bust, with the keyhole neckline sitting open rather than close to the throat. The skirt skims gently over the hip almost A-line and settles at the natural waist, giving length and movement. A versatile knit pairing suited to layering.
