The grounding background on this one is a soft taupe satin with a dusty pink blossom spray and pale blue butterflies woven right through, the kind of detail you only catch if you are truly lookng. The neckline dips into a wide V both front and back, and the bodice is fitted through the waist before the skirt releases into large darts that resemble soft pleating that carries a bit of ease just below the waist through the hip. Three-quarter sleeves and a side zip keep the whole thing svelte.

This dress is fitted enough through the middle to hold its shape, with just enough movement in the straight skirt to make sitting down and standing up equally comfortable.

Pair it with silver, pink or baby blue heels and a soft rose lip for something that leans into the era properly, or bring it forward a few decades with Doc Martin style boots and a biker jacket. A pewter clutch and drop earrings finish it for evening.
