Bold horizontal bands of jewel toned pink, purple and teal run across this Pierre Cardin silk scarf, each colour block framed crisply in navy for a striking, architectural effect. A woven paisley border trim runs down the centre, a lovely and unusual detail rarely seen breaking up a stripe design like this. The silk has a smooth, substantial hand, with the designer's name printed discreetly within the stripe.

Fold it into a wide band for a graphic headscarf, or knot it long down the front of a plain black dress to let the colour blocking take the lead. The saturated palette works beautifully against denim, white or head to toe black offering a bold statement.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Pierre Cardin spent seven decades reshaping fashion, moving from tailoring apprenticeships in Vichy to becoming one of the great futurists of twentieth century design. Best known for his space age silhouettes of the 1960s, he was equally driven by business instinct, building one of the first true global licensing empires in fashion history. A Pierre Cardin silk scarf carries that same architectural confidence in miniature, bold colour, clean structure and a name that helped define an era.
