Hundreds of tiny blue and teal daisies scattered across a deep raspberry ground, the print on this Osti Fashions dress warrants a closer look. Made in New Zealand when local fashion labels were able to produce genuinely good ready-to-wear, the fabric has a soft texture that gives the print real depth, the flowers shifting between cobalt, periwinkle and sage depending on the light. The bodice is cut with a deep crossover V-neckline, the fabric folding across itself in a clean wrap that needs no fastening. An elasticated waist draws the dress in neatly before the skirt falls in a soft A-line to midi length.

The crossover neckline is a generous silhouette. The elasticated waist accommodates without gripping, and the A-line skirt moves freely below it. Two fabrics, completely different in character, have been cut and assembled into something sensational. The upper body, collar, sleeves and hem band are solid magenta in a firm wool-rich blend knit with real substance and warmth. Triangular panels at the chest and a wide horizontal panel across the upper back are cut from a dense jacquard knit in cream and deep plum, carrying a bold scrolling paisley that almost mimics carved stonework from a distance and reveals its detail up close.

Through the shoulder and upper chest the solid magenta panels give good definition and width without bulk. Excellent: Near or near to new quality, with no noted flaws and may often be presented in original packaging or, with original tags (deadstock) all commensurate with age and love
Very Good: May have some minor issue, as seen or noted
Good: Some minor flaws which may be repairable, or may not detract from the garment when worn
Rescue: Flaws as described which may or may not detract when worn in most cases possibility of repair

We estimate sizes as current or, 'modern' sizing rather than vintage sizing as eras do vary.
