Some dresses are made for a moment. This one was made for a decade, and it has held its nerve ever since. Cut in a rich royal blue ribbed knit-blend, the mock turtleneck sits with just enough height to feel considered without being restrictive, and the ribbed texture runs the full length of the dress, shifting between cobalt and midnight depending on the light. The silhouette is gently A-line, skimming cleanly from the shoulder and releasing into a soft flare toward the knee. A full-length rear zipper from neckline to hem tells you everything about how this was made: with care, from beginning to end.

This is unmistakably from the era of clean lines and the quiet conviction that a well-cut dress in a single strong colour was all a woman needed to walk into any room. It still is.

Wear it with knee-high boots and a structured coat, or belt it at the waist for definition and add a vintage brooch at the collar. The clean A-line works beautifully across proportions: it skims if you are fuller through the bust and shoulder, releases gently over the hip without pulling if you carry more fullness below, and a slim belt creates an instant waist on any silhouette. One dress. Endless ways to wear it.

This fantastic knit-blend skater dress is the sort of authentic vintage that feels immediately fun, considered and up lifting, thanks to the high neckline, long sleeves, and a tailored bodice that nips in at the waist before dropping into a flared A-line skirt.

The fabric has that easy-care practicality, but the finish feels hand-crafted and thoughtfully constructed. It zips at the back with an original zipper and is secured with an original hook-and-eye at the neckline, which keeps the high collar sitting neatly. The silhouette is brilliant for cooler months because it gives shape without clinging, and the skirt has enough swing to keep it feeling light on its feet.

Style it for work with a sharp navy blazer and boots, or take it weekend-ready with a vintage coat and a leather crossbody. If you like a bit of contrast, try a soft ivory scarf at the neckline, or add a punchy colour bag for a modern twist.

This shape is especially good if you like definition through the waist with a skirt that skims the hips and thighs. It can also be a great balance if you carry more fullness on your bottom half than your top half, or if you are broader through the shoulders and bustline and prefer a waist-defined silhouette that flows away from the body.

This deliciously flirty Italian roll neck mini is a total wardrobe mood-lifter. The sleeveless, tailored bodice keeps the line clean and sharp, while the pleated skirt brings all the movement, perfect for a lunch date, a work do, or a proper night out with the gals.

The print feels like a Monet-inspired wash of blues, soft and painterly, but the cut keeps it grounded and wearable. It is the kind of piece that brings that authentic vintage balance of fun and polish.

Style it with a cropped blazer and boots when the weather cools down, or keep it simple with flats and a bright bag. For evening, go for statement earrings and a sleek little clutch, and let the pleats do their thing.

This vibrant cobalt silk ensemble by Melbourne label 'Leonie' is a testament to the mid-century craftsmanship that defines the Golden Age of Australian tailoring. The set consists of a meticulously structured sleeveless dress paired with a matching cropped bolero jacket, both rendered in a light weight silk that offers a lustrous, architectural sheen.

The dress features a sophisticated square neckline and an intricately pleated cummerbund-style waist that provides a beautiful structural focus. The bodice is designed to skim the ribs before transitioning into a classic pencil skirt that finishes with a traditional kick pleat for ease of movement. The accompanying bolero adds a layer of refinement with its three-quarter sleeves and delicate floral lace appliqué at the neckline, framing the face with an air of quiet luxury.

This ensemble is particularly effective for those who find their shoulders are a touch narrower than their hips, as the bolero’s structure and the lace detailing draw the eye upward to create a perfect visual balance. If you have a more linear frame, the pleated waist detail works beautifully to create the illusion of curves, defining the midline with soft, intentional geometry.

Style the dress on its own for a summer wedding with a simple stiletto and a vintage clutch. For a polished gallery opening or a formal dinner, add the bolero to complete the silhouette.

This two-tone authentic vintage shirtwaister-style dress is pure fabulous. The fabric in the bodice gives you that crisp, clean, tailored line through the shoulders and collar, while the patterned cotton-blend skirt brings in just the right amount softness and personality.

The skirt finishes just below the knee in an elegant pencil-skirt shape that sits neatly and moves well, plus you have the practicality of the original buttons up top and an original side zip.

Style it for work with a blazer and boots, then take it into evening with a silk scarf and statement earrings. On warmer days, roll the sleeves, open the collar, and add espadrilles or simple flats.

This exceptional vintage dress is all about line and colour with the pleasant surprise of pockets! That perfect, clear blue, the kind that emulates a polished without trying look. Combined with a tailored silhouette that just skims the body and keeps everything beautifully feminine.

The fabric has a subtle corded texture and a soft sheen that suggests silk, though the fibre content is unconfirmed. It closes with an original side zip, and inside you will spot generous seam allowance, which is always a good sign of quality construction and gives helpful wiggle room for careful alterations if needed.

Style it simply with a blazer and boots, or go full evening with statement jewellery and a sharp little clutch. If you want to play with colour, try citrus accessories for a modern pop, or keep it classic with pearl earrings and a lipstick-red bag.

This elegant silk jacket is one of those pieces that will instantly lift whatever you pair it with. Style it with a pencil skirt for a sharp vintage moment, or throw it over denim with a silk cami for modern ease. Add boots and a structured bag for cooler months, or keep it light with loafers and gold hoops.

This Truly Fair shirtwaister dress is perfect for waking up your wardrobe. It has that classic collared, button-through bodice, with a softly elasticated waistband that gives shape and style without feeling fussy.

The skirt falls to just below the knee with a light, floaty drape, so it moves beautifully when you walk. It is a brilliant everyday-to-occasion piece, especially if you like your outfits to look polished and considered while still feeling easy to throw on.

Style her up with crisp and graphic notes adding white sneakers and a citron bag, or lean into vintage elegance with a pearl clip-on earring and a soft metallic sandal. If you want a little drama, add a punchy red lip, gold bangles, and a printed scarf tied at the neck. For colour accuracy, please note the dress colour is best represented by the close-up detail images and swatches rather than the full mannequin photos.

This vintage dress has that lovely vivid blue presence that will feel instantly uplifting, with an all-over abstract print in navy, teal, chartreuse, violet, and pink scattered across the fabric. The collar and soft shirt-style bodice give it a neat tailored starting point, while the elasticated waist draws the shape in gently without taking away the ease.

The fabric is soft as butter and light to wear, with that easy wash-and-wear feel that makes getting dressed wonderfully straightforward. Long sleeves gathered into cuffs give it a little polish, while the skirt falls into an easy line with room to move. It is the sort of dress that feels just as right for daytime plans as it does dressed up a little further.

Try it with neutral loafers and a lilac handbag, or go with cobalt boots and a bright bangles. For a colour extravaganza, add a cardigan in saffron, fuchsia, or apple green.

This shape is great if you like gentle definition through the waist with ease through the hips and thighs. It also works well if you are a bit fuller through the bust and shoulders and want the bodice to sit comfortably without clinging. If you are straighter through the middle, the elasticated waist helps create shape, while the soft skirt keeps the overall line relaxed and flattering.

This soft lurex beauty is a “walk in, feel fabulous” dress. The teal-and-gold floral brocade has that gentle shimmer that looks luxe in any light, while the one-shoulder neckline keeps the styling uniquely interesting.

The shape is easy and flattering. It is fitted through the upper body, then releases into a softly gathered skirt that finishes around the knee. The shoulder bow detail and the draped panel give you movement and drama in the nicest way, which is especially handy when you want a statement look that still feels comfortable.

Style it with sleek metallic sandals and a small clutch for events, or go modern with pointed flats. If you want to play with colour, this looks brilliant with a warm gold bag or a deep teal heel.

This neckline is especially good if you like drawing the eye upward to the shoulders and collarbone. It is also a lovely balance if you are a bit fuller on your bottom half than your top half, because the upper detail creates proportion and the skirt skims rather than clings. If you are broader through the shoulders and bustline, it still works beautifully, just keep the rest of your styling streamlined so the neckline stays the star.

This teal silk satin beauty comes with the kind of provenance you cannot fake. It was handmade with care by one of our New Zealand collectors who wore it to a ball, then it headed off to Australia for a wedding when her granddaughter gave it a second turn around the dancefloor. Now she is in her 90s and would love it to go on and start another tradition in a new family.

The cut is pure special-occasion theatre, without being fussy. A clean, shaped bodice and short sleeves keep the upper half elegant and wearable, while the skirt is all about sculpted drape and volume, gathered into soft swags that move beautifully as you walk. The colour is that rich teal that plays nicely with gold, pearls, crystal, or a bold lip and a simple up-do.

Styling-wise, you can go classic with champagne heels and a vintage clutch, or modern with metallic platforms and a statement cuff. If you are wearing it for a winter event, add a cropped velvet jacket in deep plum, a soft faux-fur in ivory, or a fine mohair knit in misty grey-blue for a tonal moment.

Teal lurex up top like sea-glass catching the light, then a long sweep of black velvet that falls straight and elegant to the floor. It has that classic eventwear confidence, the kind you pull on when the night needs a little drama.

The bodice is all texture and shimmer, with a sculpted pattern that reads beautifully in photos and even better in real life. The skirt stays sleek and streamlined, with a front split edged in sequin trim for movement and a subtle flash as you walk.

Style it with silver or pewter jewellery for a cool, modern finish, or go full vintage-glam with crystal earrings and a cherry-red lip. For colour, try a chartreuse clutch, icy lilac wrap, or a deep magenta heel if you want the teal to really sing.

This teal hostess-style shift will make a polished sparkling entrance. Clean lines, a crisp sleeveless cut, and that high neckline that frames the face to perfection. Then the beadwork arrives and suddenly the whole dress is on pointe!

The detailing is genuinely sublime. A sparkling, sculpted collar with silver-toned bursts, aqua beading, sequins, and tiny pearl accents, echoed down the front bib and finished again at the armholes. It is luxe and intentional rather than fussy, which is exactly what you want for weddings, cocktails, and any room where the lighting is doing you favours.

Style it with a sharp ivory blazer and metallic heels for modern event wear, or lean into colour with orchid, chartreuse, or paprika accessories for something bolder. It is also brilliant with a sleek low bun and statement earrings since the neckline does everything it was meant to do for you.

This enchanting two-piece set sits right at the crossroads of fashion and beauty history. Bearing the label of luxury French cosmetics house Lancôme Paris, this authentic vintage ensemble likely dates to the 1980s, a decade that adored a little Jazz Age romance and made it feel fresh again.

Crafted from delicate seafoam lace woven throughout with a fine gold metallic thread, the finish has a soft, luminous glow. The silhouette tips its hat to the 1920s through simplicity rather than fuss, with a straight, waist-length blouse that sits neatly at the natural waist, paired with a clean, straight skirt. At the neckline, a contrasting cream lace appliqué adds a whisper of Edwardian charm, like a well-chosen antique detail for your collarbone.

This set is sheer and designed to be worn over a slip. Worn together, it reads like an elegant, era-referencing “dress” while still giving you the versatility of separates. Worn separately, the blouse looks sublime over a camisole with wide-leg trousers, while the skirt brings texture and glint to a simple silk tee or fine knit.

Layer it over a seafoam, cream, or pale gold slip for a seamless look, or choose a deeper tone underneath for contrast that lets the lace pattern stand up and introduce itself properly. Add pearls for a 1920s nod, or keep it modern with sculptural metallic jewellery and sleek heels.

It is a piece for the collector who loves provenance, and for the dresser who wants something truly distinct. Delicate, dazzling, and seriously hard to forget.

DESIGNER INFORMATION: Lancôme Paris is best known as a prestige French beauty house, founded in 1935 and built on the idea of luxury presentation and polished femininity. In the late 20th century, cosmetics brands occasionally commissioned limited fashion and promotional pieces to support counter displays, events, editorial partnerships, and brand-led campaigns. Items like this Lancôme-labelled lace set are typically produced in small runs and were not part of mainstream retail fashion distribution, which is why surviving examples are uncommon. For collectors, that crossover between a globally recognised heritage brand and an authentic period garment adds provenance, scarcity, and display-worthy appeal, all of which support its collectable value.

This is the kind of authentic vintage print that does not whisper. It walks in first. A joyful swirl of seafoam, bubblegum pink, citrus orange and warm mustard in a bold paisley-style pattern that feels like sunshine with a point of view.

The cut has that clever wrap-effect detail through the front, creating an asymmetric line that adds shape without feeling fussy. The neckline sits in a soft boat shape, the sleeves are a wearable three-quarter length, and the overall silhouette is clean and confident. It skims rather than clings, letting the colour do the talking while the tailoring keeps everything feeling intentional.

Styling is the fun part. Keep it graphic with white or tan sandals and a simple clutch, or go full gallery-opening energy with a sharp heel and a sculptural earring. For cooler days, layer with a crisp jacket or a longline coat and let the print peek out like a secret. If you love definition at the waist, add a slim belt over the wrap panel for a polished finish, but it looks just as strong worn as-is.

This authentic 1970s nightgown by Diamond Cut is pure after-dark elegance, the kind that makes even a glass of water feel like a martini. Cut in silky nylon with a rich teal-green sheen, it skims the body in a long, fluid line that feels glamorous without feeling fussy.

The star detail is the dramatic V-shaped sheer mesh yoke, edged neatly at the neckline and echoed on the back for a beautifully balanced finish. The mesh has a subtle diamond-dot pattern that reads like vintage couture lingerie design, and the floral appliqué at centre front adds a soft romantic note without tipping into sweetness overload. Long sleeves keep the look sleek and refined, while the floor-length column shape celebrates your natural silhouette, moving with you rather than fighting you.

Designed as luxury sleepwear, it also has real the ... midnight at a coastal hotel look-potential you could easily style for an evening out. Add a simple slip underneath, a sculptural earring, and let the neckline do the talking. Phwoar!

This dress by the label Hookahey is a fantastic example of the 1990s mod revival aesthetic. It channels the spirit of the sixties through a distinctly nineties lens, featuring a fine knit in a vibrant 'space dye' horizontal stripe of seafoam, teal, and cerulean blue.

The silhouette is fitted and flattering, skimming the body to create a sleek line. The design features charming cap sleeves and a classic boat neckline. The standout details are the decorative bands at the hip, outlined in bold black piping and finished with button accents. These faux-pocket details add graphic structure and define the waistline without adding bulk.

This is a versatile piece of retrospective fashion history. Wear it with chunky boots to lean into the grunge-era roots, or pair it with simple slides for a fresh look. It is comfortable, characterful, and effortlessly cool.

This is the kind of authentic vintage skirt that makes everything else in your wardrobe behave. A Pitlochry tartan in deep navy and forest tones with teal, mustard, cream and fine warm accents running through the check. It has that proper Scottish wool feel and look, with the colour depth you only get when the fibre is doing the heavy lifting.

The cut is classic and beautifully wearable. A high waist with a structured waistband, then a clean A-line fall with crisp pleats that create movement without bulk. The pleats add swish and give the silhouette shape as you walk, while the waist stays defined and comfortable. It is also fully lined, so it slips on easily and sits smoothly over hosiery.

Styling wise, this one is a workhorse with personality. Pair it with a fitted knit or a simple tee tucked in to let the waistline shine. Add loafers or boots for everyday polish, or go full winter heroine with tights, a fine roll neck and a tailored coat. For a softer contrast, try it with a creamy blouse and a vintage brooch at the collar. The tartan does not need much help, it just needs good basics and a confident stride.

These Kenna slip-on espadrille mules are a little bit Riviera, a little bit rock star dressing gown, and completely ready to elevate the most basic outfit.

The upper is a peacock-inspired jacquard in deep navy, teal, and antique gold, woven with that “look closer” texture that catches light as you move. The classic espadrille jute edge keeps things grounded and summer-appropriate, while the mule shape makes them an easy on-and-off hero for days when you want polish without the fuss.

Wear them with linen, crisp cotton, or a simple black dress and let the shoes do the storytelling. They also look excellent with denim and a white shirt when you want a quiet statement rather than a shout.

This is the kind of authentic vintage set that does the work for you. A Southwell two piece in a richly grounded palette of rust, forest green, cream and black, with horizontal stripe bands broken up by tiny florals and decorative border motifs. It reads polished from a distance, and up close the print has that satisfying, intricate detail vintage does so well.

The blouse is button-through with a sharp pointed collar and long sleeves finished with button cuffs. The collar has its own contrast patterning, which frames the face beautifully and gives the set a clean, finished look without needing extra fuss. The skirt sits high at the waist and falls into an easy A-line, creating movement while keeping the silhouette intentional and flattering.

Worn together, it is a full outfit with proper presence. The high waist and A-line shape define the waist and let the skirt skim comfortably through the hips and thighs, so you get that classic proportion play without anything feeling tight or restrictive. Add loafers and a trench for weekday polish, or wear it with boots and a long coat when the weather turns. You can also split the set easily: the blouse works brilliantly with denim or tailored trousers, and the skirt pairs well with a crisp tee or fine knit.

This is a New Zealand made vintage set with real wardrobe value, because it gives you multiple looks while still feeling like one cohesive story.

Colour blocking before it became 'a thing'. This authentic vintage dress from New Zealand label Passion Fruit by Peppertree is a study in smart dressing.

Crafted in a wool blend, the dress combines a rich teal green low turtleneck bodice with a geometric patterned A-line skirt. The contrast between solid and pattern creates visual interest without trying too hard. A belt at the natural waist provides definition and brings the two sections together.

Long sleeves and a turtleneck make this a winter-worthy piece, perfect for cooler months. The A-line skirt flares gently from the waist, creating balance and movement. This silhouette works beautifully whether you carry more fullness through the bust and shoulders or through the hips and thighs, the defined waist and flared skirt providing elegant proportion.

Passion Fruit by Peppertree was a New Zealand fashion label known for quality fabrication and considered design. This piece exemplifies that approach: practical, wearable, and quietly sophisticated.

Pair it with knee-high boots and a structured coat for work, or add tights and ankle boots for weekend ease. The teal and geometric pattern make accessories easy: keep them simple and let the dress do the talking.

This is the sort of coat that makes tartan feel sharp, not costume. The palette is rich and grounded, with a classic green base crossed with red, white, and fine dark lines that read as tailored and intentional.

Made under the Philip Askew London label and made in New Zealand, it is cut in a clean, straight silhouette with a wide notched collar that frames the neckline beautifully. The front closes with tonal buttons, and the coat keeps its lines tidy through the body, giving you that polished, column-like shape that vintage does so well.

At the hips, the coat features flap pockets with a smart angled detail that echoes the check, adding structure without adding bulk. It is the kind of piece that sits neatly over knitwear and dresses, then still looks composed when worn open.

Fabric-wise, it has that fine wool blend feel with a smooth finish that holds shape and wears with confidence. A proper outer layer, made for real life.

This is the kind of 1950s skirt that does the hard work for you. A true fit and flare shape with a full, swishy sweep, finished in a black sheer overlay with deep green horizontal striping that reads dressy without trying too hard.

The fabric has a crisp, lightly structured feel through the overlay, so the skirt holds its silhouette rather than collapsing. Wearable and polished, the sheer striped layer adds depth and movement as you walk. Up top, it sits high on the waist with soft gathers for volume, plus a matching belt to define the waistline cleanly.

It is a brilliant piece for proportion play. The high waist and full skirt create that classic 1950s balance, highlighting the waist and giving the hips and legs room to move. Pair it with a fitted knit, a tucked blouse, or a simple tee and a sharp shoe. It also loves a cropped jacket, especially for evenings when you want shape without bulk.

Elegant, wearable, and quietly theatrical in the best way.

Discover the magic of 1970s tailoring in this deep slate beauty. A sophisticated speckle print. Think tiny stars scattered across fabric that gives it just enough visual interest without overwhelming your look.

The soft pointed collar and streamlined cut work equally well buttoned-up for boardroom moments or casually unbuttoned for weekend wandering. Lightweight and drape-friendly, it tucks beautifully without bulk, making it the kind of vintage find that actually earns its place in your wardrobe. Layer it, tuck it, roll the sleeves up! This is the kind of jacket that quietly upgrades everything you already own. Clean, tailored, and beautifully straightforward, with a deep bottle green tone that reads polished in daylight and rich after hours.

Made by Claudine Fashionwear by Bonds, this authentic vintage piece sits in that sweet spot between shirt and jacket, with a structured collar, a neat button-through front, and patch pockets that keep it practical without disrupting the line. The silhouette is long enough to feel composed, and gently shaped through the body so it skims the frame rather than clinging.

The details do the work. The slightly rounded hem, the wide cuffs, and the tidy pocket placement give it a refined finish. It is an easy layer that works across proportions because the cut is intentional, not fussy.

Wear it buttoned up as a top with tailored trousers, or open over a slip dress, a tee and denim, or a fine knit. It is also a strong alternative to a blazer when you want structure without feeling formal.

This is good fashion built for repeat wear, and it holds its shape in a wardrobe for the long haul.

This one is pure 1960s confidence. Clean lines, an uncomplicated silhouette, and then that hit of colour at the hem like a little private sunrise you carry through the day.

Made by Jennifer Dean, this authentic vintage mini shift keeps the shape classic with a scoop neckline and sleeveless cut that lets your shoulders and arms do their thing. The fabric has that soft, felted wool feel, giving the dress a beautiful structure without turning stiff. It skims rather than clings, and the gentle A-line makes movement easy.

The showstopper is the bold sunrise appliqué at the lower side, with deep burgundy tones and a bright yellow arc, finished with stitched rays. It is graphic, mod, and surprisingly wearable. The kind of detail that makes people ask, “Where did you find that?” - Make sure you tell them at Painted Bird Vintage!

Fit-wise, this is a dream for anyone who loves a streamlined silhouette that still gives breathing room. It works on a range of proportions because the shape is intentional: tidy at the top, relaxed through the body, and polished all the way down.

Style it and layer with a simple blouse or 'T' underneath adding opaque tights and boots or loafers for weekday sharpness. Or, bare legs and flats when the weather plays nice. Add a cropped jacket, or let it stand alone and do the talking.

This is good fashion with a backstory, and a rare slice of boutique Auckland design history.

HISTORY: Jennifer Dean Boutique Ltd (Auckland, New Zealand) was part of the mid-century boutique wave that grew in Auckland during the 1960s, when small local fashion businesses produced short-run garments for a city clientele seeking modern, international-looking style. Boutique labels like this typically offered limited production and more personalised service than department stores, helping shape an early New Zealand designer retail scene before mass import fashion became dominant.. More information about the label can be found at New Zealand Fashion Museum.

This striking jacket by New Zealand label Patricia is a testament to the adventurous textile design of the 1970s. It features an intricate geometric jacquard weave in verdant green and earthy beige, sparked with subtle metallic threads that catch the light without overpowering the eye.

The silhouette is elegantly streamlined. A collarless round neckline and button-down front create a clean vertical line, while the gently puffed shoulders and nipped waist offer a sharp, feminine profile. Contrasting black trim at the hip pockets adds a grounding detail to the complex pattern.

This piece is a structural dream for defining the waist. The longline cut skims the hips to elongate the torso. It is versatile enough to wear as a statement top buttoned fully or open as a jacket.

Style it with wide-leg wool trousers for a texture-rich winter look. Alternatively, pair it with dark denim and boots to bring a touch of vintage luxury to the weekend. This is a locally made treasure that combines bold design with enduring wearability.

Some pieces do the most while looking like they are doing the least. This authentic 1970s shirt jacket has that quietly capable energy, tailored enough to feel polished, relaxed enough to wear like a second skin. The colour is a soft sage green, the kind that plays nicely with everything from inky denim to winter white, and still looks elevated next to black.

The silhouette sits in that sweet spot between shirt and jacket. It has a crisp collar and a clean button-through front, with a longer line that skims over the hips for an easy, flattering shape. The clever detail is in the structure: subtle vertical panel lines and oversized patch pockets create definition without stiffness, and the back waist tab lets you cinch the silhouette in or wear it looser depending on your mood and layering.

This is a brilliant piece for building proportions. If you are broader through the shoulders, the open collar and long line create a balanced vertical. If you are fuller through the lower half, the length and gentle shaping glide over the hips without grabbing. If you love a waist moment, that back tab is your best friend, giving shape without a belt cutting you in half.

Wear it open over a simple slip dress. Button it up and treat it like a top with high-waisted trousers. Layer it under a wool coat in winter or throw it over a tee in early autumn. It is one of those reliable vintage pieces that quietly upgrades whatever it touches.

Sophistication doesn't always need to announce itself. This authentic vintage dress from the 1980s - 1990s understands restraint.

Crafted in olive green cotton blend easy care fabric with a subtle textured pattern throughout, the dress catches light quietly. The real design moment is at the neckline: an asymmetric collar detail wraps across one shoulder and fastens with a single button, creating architectural interest without fuss. It's the kind of detail that makes people look twice.

Long sleeves finish with button-tab cuffs, a tailored touch that adds polish. The fitted silhouette skims the body in a flattering shape and the centre back split for ease of movement. This cut works beautifully whether you carry more fullness through the bust and shoulders or through the hips and thighs, the straight lines will create elegant proportion.

Pair it with boots and a structured bag for work, or add statement earrings and heels for evening. The olive green works across seasons, equally at home with autumn tones or spring neutrals.

Timeless, wearable, endlessly versatile. The kind of dress that earns its place in your wardrobe.

DESIGNER INFORMATION: From the designers," This dress is the 'Mary-Jane' from our 'Ma Fetiche' Winter 2009 collection inspired by shoes. It included beautiful pieces with names like Brogues skirt, Stiletto strides, Slingback dress, Clog jacket, Loafer shorts & so on... and of course the Mary-Jane dress which came in olive & burgundy colourways. A lovely slightly quirky collection. Looking back it was kinda early 'Andy Warhol' culture! We hope it finds another good home & continues to be loved & enjoyed for many more years Jill+Ange

The art of layering begins here. This authentic vintage gillet proves that the simplest pieces often work the hardest.

Crafted in emerald green easy care fabric with a subtle texture, the fabric has weight and presence without bulk. The sleeveless design creates a clean vertical line, while the open front allows for endless styling possibilities. A deep V-neckline elongates the torso beautifully, flattering whether you carry more fullness through the bust or prefer a more streamlined silhouette.

The A-line cut gently skims away from the body, creating elegant movement and balance. If you have broader shoulders or a fuller bust, the open front and V-neck draw the eye down rather than across. If you carry more through the hips and thighs, the longer length and A-line shape provide graceful coverage while maintaining proportion.

Silver button detailing on the front hip pockets adds a touch of polish, three on each side catching light with every step. Construction is impeccable, with clean seaming and a structured shoulder line that holds its shape.

Layer it over high neck light sweaters and blouses for cooler months, or wear it as a statement piece over silk camisoles or slip dresses for evening. This is the kind of vest that builds a wardrobe. Timeless, versatile, endlessly wearable.

This authentic vintage dress has that unmistakable 1970s attitude: a clean, sleek green bodice with an exaggerated pointed collar in a vivid geometric print, then a matching printed skirt that brings the movement. The collar length and shape are a big clue to the era, and the neat front button placket adds to that tailored, daytime to dinner polish that seventies dressing did so well.

Construction wise, the silhouette is built through shaping seams and a defined join where the skirt is set in, giving structure up top and an easy swish below. The crisp collar suggests interfacing for that sharp line, and the colour matched buttons keep the look intentional rather than fussy.

Let the collar be your jewellery and keep the neckline clear, then choose a simple sandal for day or a heeled mule for evening. If you are a bit fuller on your bottom half than your top half, the bold collar visually balances the look beautifully, while the skirt does its job with confidence and ease.

You wont find another with this sensational swish!

This authentic vintage dress likely crafted in the 1960s is made in a burnout velvet style, a labour-intensive technique where the pile is chemically etched away to create pattern through texture. The result is pure theatre: rich emerald velvet flowers emerge against sheer organza, the interplay of opacity and light creating depth with every movement. This is mid-century craftsmanship at its most luxurious.

The silhouette is elegantly understated. A fitted bodice with a flattering V-neckline draws the eye to the collarbone and décolletage, while short cap sleeves provide coverage without bulk. The self-tie belt cinches at the natural waist with the column skirt skimming the body gracefully, balancing proportions whether you carry more fullness through the bust and shoulders or through the hips and thighs.

Construction speaks to quality. A concealed back zipper, careful seaming, and high end-finishing details throughout confirm this dress was made to last.

Style it with your favourite black court shoes and simple jewellery for cocktails, or add a silk clutch and statement earrings for evening events. The burnout velvet catches candlelight beautifully, making this the dress for after-dark occasions.

Investment dressing with presence. A piece that commands attention and never apologises for it.

This authentic vintage Etam skirt is pure 1990s colour confidence, the kind that makes a simple outfit look instantly considered. A graphic green base is dotted with chartreuse blooms in a playful grid, finished with hot pink piping at the waistband and two statement buttons that feel like a little wink from the era. The shape is a clean A-line mini with a structured waistband, so it sits neatly and keeps its line, which is exactly why these vintage cuts still feel so sharp today.

Style it with a crisp white tee and loafers for modern French-girl ease, or go full weekend with a fine knit camisole and trainers, then add a blazer when you want a bit more polish. The high waist is especially flattering if you like definition through your middle, or if you are a bit fuller through the bottom half than the top half and want a skirt that skims without clinging. It also works beautifully if you are broader through the shoulders or bust, because the strong waistband creates balance and gives your outfit a clear shape. This is one of those rare, cheerful pieces that does not try too hard, it just shows up and makes everything else look better.

This authentic vintage maxi is pure 1970s optimism in fabric form. The print is a brilliant mix of saturated greens with pops of violet, sunshine yellow and warm spice tones, arranged in graphic vertical panels that do what great vintage does best: create impact while quietly working in your favour. The neckline is a clean square, the straps are substantial and supportive, and the bodice has those thoughtful era details, including statement buttons and shaping through the torso, finishing in a sweeping skirt with a ruffled hem that moves like it has its own soundtrack.

Made in the 1970s, it has that wearable bohemian polish that feels just as right now with leather sandals and a basket bag (have you seen our Cane Like Clutch) as it does dressed up with a block heel and your favourite jewellery.

The vertical patterning is especially lovely if you like a lengthening line through the body, and it suits a range of proportions. If you are a bit fuller through the bottom half than the top half and want balance, or if you are broader through the shoulders or bust and like a neckline that frames that beautifully then this one's for you. Add a cropped denim jacket or a fine knit for cooler evenings, and let the dress do the heavy lifting while you simply show up and look unforgettable.
