DESIGNER INFORMATION: American born (1935) designer Victor Costa, designs can be found at museums such as RISD and FIDM and Birmingham Museum of Art as well as high-end designer vintage resale sites. Born in 1935 and possessing a photographic memory, Costa once said, "Special occasion dresses have always been my hallmark." Costa became the in-house designer for Suzy Perette, a large New York label known for producing line-for-line copies of French haute couture. He designed some of the most beautiful and well constructed evening gowns of the 1980s under his own label. Fabrics used included fine silks, satins, and brocades. During his heyday, Costa’s client list was a "who’s who" of society and entertainment stars. His goal was to make all women feel beautiful.

DESIGNER INFORMATION: Roland Klein was born in Rouen, France in 1938. He studied in Paris at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture from 1955 to 1957. Klein went to London in 1965 and joined the firm of Marcel Fenez, in 1973 he became managing director of this firm.

DESIGNER INFORMATION: According to New Zealand Fashion Museum: 'Patrick Steel started designing clothes in the 1970s. In 1979 the 24-year-old Aucklander was named Young Designer of the Year at the Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards. He went on to dress many of New Zealand's socialites and celebrities during the 1980s and 1990s.'
