The store was owned and operated by Colombian artist Helizabeth Borrero de King, offering a snapshot of her love of fashion, style, and all that glitters. A gift and jewellery store with a little taste of everything, it catered to a diverse group of locals, fashionistas, and supported artisans. The store was known for embracing community and culture, as well as bringing a unique overseas perspective to the area. Brought to you in this collection are some of the surviving pieces from the store's closure in the early 1990s. Each piece is unique and brings joy to the wearer.

Vintage Japanese Haori

This is the most common style of kimono jacket. With kimono style sleeves made to fit over the kimono sleeve it covers, a collar piece that extends from hem to hem, an open front with a haori himo tie (obi are not used), and typically made from fabric that would also be suitable for a kimono. There are many categories of haori, defined by fabric, occasion, design and length. The natsu haori, is made in a semi-sheer synthetic or open weave silk to be worn in the summertime. Many haori have a surprise inside the lining that might be colourful unique or decorative than the outer fabric of the jacket. Most haori are reversible, with all the stitching hidden, so if you prefer the lining side, display or wear it inside out!

Deep violet and jade weave together in a rich, textured all over print, colour breaking across the silk in dense, organic marks that catch differently with every fold of light. A crisp jade green border frames the design, with the YSL foulards Paris label stitched neatly into one corner. Yves Saint Laurent's silk accessories trace back to the house's very first scarf collection in the early 1960s, hand drawn rather than mechanically ruled, so the pattern shifts and reassembles in new ways depending on how the scarf is tied. True to the house, the silk carries real weight and a lovely fluid drape.

Note on colour: this scarf photographs with some variation across our images, the richer, deeper tone (violet and jade against black) is the most accurate representation of the piece in hand, rather than the brighter green seen in some shots.

Knot it at the throat to let the depth of colour sit close to the face, or fold into a wide band worn as a striking headscarf against plain black.
